For this reason, the Department of Culture has organized guided tours of the monument Torre del Rico, as confirmed by Councilwoman Joan Guardiola.
In this way, those interested can visit this monument located in the hamlet Jumillano the same name, from 11:00 until 13:00 hours.
This place is reached by road from Jumilla in Pinoso, touring the Tower indicative Rico.
The monument of the Torre del Rico is an austere building fortified a defensive construction whose mission was to facilitate the repopulation of the surrounding countryside.
Built in 1573, is situated on a gentle hill that controls a vast plain bounded by the mountains of Carche.
It is made of stone masonry in the area.
It was declared a Historic Artistic Monument on September 24, 1982 (Royal Decree 3025/1982 of 24 September, BOE n º 274, November 15, 1982), becoming sake of Cultural Interest, with the category of Monument June 15, 1998 .
Under the protection of the general declaration of the Decree of April 22, 1949, and Law 16/1985 on Spanish Historical Heritage.
