The Department of Culture, through the Public Library, has organized various activities to mark World Book Day, celebrated on 23 April.
One of them is a Reading Marathon, which will feature the book "The whistle of the dale ', an anthology of Miguel Hernández, universal poet which will carry out various acts, in the year which marks the centenary of his birth.
'The whistle of dale' is an anthology of the major poems of our poet Orihuela.
The anthology is divided into three parts.
In the first comprises the first verse, with poems in which the appearance of modest apprentice poet is enhanced by such essential topics in the life of a troubadour as one's own existential crisis, disappointment or the desperate cry of one who loves.
In the second part of the book reveals its militant poetry, his poetry directly, where we depicted the suffering of war, where he lives and dies and with which we moved at the same time he lapsed in his initial enthusiasm to glimpse the end of the war.
The third part of the whistle of the dale is the most troubled and thoughtful.
His years in prison made him write with the wisdom of simplicity, with short verses and short poems, with a deep harmony that you read it awakens a sense of helplessness, the same misery that the poet suffered from the loss of hopes, at the hands of the prison and the absence of those he loved.
This marathon will be a steady course in a relay that is open to all citizens who so desire, without any limitation.
In this way, people interested in taking part in this Marathon Reading must go through the library to register.
