Jumilla Mayor Francisco Abellán and Tourism Councillor Joan Guardiola were present last week at a full meeting of Commonwealth Travel Services Northeast, held in Fortuna.
In this plenary session, in addition to Jumilla, attended the municipalities responsible for Abanilla, Fortuna and Yecla, which make up the Commonwealth.
It addressed several points, including two relating to the Settlement in the 2006 Budget and the General Account of that year, leaving the post for future full accounts, as reported by the Councillor for Tourism Juana Guardiola.
Another point addressed in this plenary, was the analysis, by members of the economic situation of the Commonwealth.
Guardiola has reported that "there are two municipalities that have an important contribution, one of them had not made any since the start of the Commonwealth."
In this sense the right was agreed to regularize the situation, on the one hand, with a contribution for 2009 of 3,050 euros each municipality and on the other hand, municipalities which by 2009 had some input should catch up, " to hold up the Commonwealth, as we have no money of any plan of boosting tourism, or any grant tourist consortia manage and we will not receive any contributions for this year by the Ministry of Tourism, "says Guardiola, adding that in this way, "the Commonwealth is held in suspense for, if in due course, interested in continuing it."
