Local Red Cross has moved to the Sports Department a report of services performed in 2009 and related to sports, thanks to an agreement signed with the town of Jumilla.
According to this, in 2009, a total of 92 services, which were used 300 hours and with the participation of 511 volunteers (344 men and 167 women).
These services are divided among the five hours a week they offer and the Preventive Services Punctual.
In terms of material resources during the weekend has moved a BLS ambulance and a transport vehicle adapted to transport the volunteers.
For the rest of Preventive Services Punctual (Triathlon, Half Marathon, Cross and Career Christmas, etc.) were increased material resources.
In the Half Marathon was increased with 3 BLS ambulances, an emergency center, a doctor and two nurses, for Christmas Carrera used three BLS ambulances and a vehicle for the Cross movement and the Fair that year increased by two ambulances.
These preventive, and a rough estimate of the public who has attended all the events, round the figure of 15,000 people in total.
In these devices were treated 54 people with injuries of varying degrees, of which 25 were transferred to the Health Center of Jumilla.
Sports Councilman José Luis Monreal is very much appreciated the service that "is very demanding both for athletes and the public attending, as events have been covered with thousands of attendees and this service offers an added security and health care."
Monreal added that "this agreement prompted the City Council in 2007 and continued in 2008 and 2009, so that the intention is to keep this agreement with Red Cross in 2010."
