Last week, the Mayor of Jumilla Francisco Abellán and Olivares Fuensanta Councillor for Education, with responsibility for the work, visited the Centre for Child Care of Jumilla (CAI).
Abellán has confirmed "this center is expected to become operational next school year, now need to finalize the procedure to apply for a vacancy, and the administration of this service to be fixed by the Ministry of Social Policy."
The mayor has reported that "it is a building that is nearing completion, which is convenient, modern and, above all, it is very necessary to Jumilla and to care for these children 0 to 3 years, from 7 am to 7 pm, as their parents are working and that children need school attendance and education. "
Abellán has reported that "a visit we have seen that the center needs an area for recreation more than the small courtyard that is incorporated into the building, for it is going to build a perimeter fence that will protect the center, which will be similar to that of other schools, which will have more ground to move, play sand and a playground. "
The maximum local authority added that "now missing a meeting with the Minister of Social Policy to tell us definitively whether the concierge service will take, will hire teachers, will sign an agreement with the City or what management system will have this service. "
(AUDIO MAYOR).
The Center for Child Care will have 66 places for children from 0 to 3 years.
Located in the Arsenal on a plot of 1,100 square meters of which 600 will go to court and 500 square meters for building.
It will house six classrooms of approximately 50 square meters and have multiple use areas, dining room, staff room, reception, lounges, address, large and small toilets, staff room and toilets exchangers, among other rooms.
With regard to staffing, in principle, the center would need 12 people including teachers and staff for cooking and cleaning.
The Councillor for Education and Children Fuensanta Olivares said "that is a center that is urgently needed in the city, as Jumilla is one of the few municipalities in the region of Murcia which has no service."
In addition, the municipal center or nursery will have the health and safety measures necessary, including adequate furniture without sharp edges, waterproof and non-toxic paint and safety plugs, among others.
It will also have the conditions of access and air conditioning.
The center will contribute to renewable energy to produce hot water by solar panels and enclosure with several layers of insulation.
The project also includes the possibility of building a basement parking space for municipal (for 31 seats), and other facilities on a deck, but what is being addressed, in principle, will be the Child Care Center the ground floor.
The construction of this building is being undertaken in collaboration between the city of Jumilla and the Autonomous Community.
