Jumilla City Council has received around 500 decoders to view digital terrestrial television (DTT) in order to be distributed to residents of the municipalities that meet certain requirements.
As reported by New Technologies Councilman Jesus Sanchez this action is "the product of an agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Directorate General of Telecommunications of the Autonomous Communities, to provide municipalities with a series of set-top boxes for DTT" .
In Jumilla have received about 500 aircraft, which "will be shared according to a series of conditions that requires both the ministry and the autonomous region, people with certain characteristics and risk of social exclusion and that it is very difficult to have these devices, "Sanchez said.
The recipients will be people elderly or handicapped, hearing or visual, but "the requirements for applying these devices will be announced shortly, and where should be directed to make the request," added Councillor for New Technologies.
On the other hand, Jumilla City Council has received a grant of 23,000 euros to cover the costs of installing the power system of DTT broadcasting center in El Carche.
This grant will complement those granted in 2008 and are part of the Digital Power Plan 2008-2010, which aims to ensure a coordinated and orderly transition to the digital power in all municipalities in the region.
