After four months of operation of the Welcome House Immigrant Women in Jumilla, the Councillor for Social Policy, Mariana Gómez, and the Social Worker responsible for monitoring this service, Pedro José Pérez, have made a home visit to assess the functioning.

This house was opened in August and now live in it three households, a grandmother with her granddaughter, a girl with her daughter and currently pregnant and another girl with a child and about to give birth to a son.

Mariana Gomez has insisted that it is a house whose operation is independent and that it is for women whose only problem is the lack of housing "can not have women who have an additional problem, or drugs consumption or prostitution, or bad treatment or mental health, since these people would require different resources. "

"

For his part, Pedro José Pérez explained that "this action is aimed at immigrant women, who are derived from the various UTS of Social Services or other agencies.

These cases are subject to a review committee to proceed with its income, at-risk women with family, attempting that during his stay in this house, get standardize their critical situation. "

The social worker reported that all those who need this service should be directed to put the demand on the Social Services Centre of the City of Jumilla.

The Welcome House is a temporary remedy, with a maximum stay of three months renewable at the discretion of the evaluation committee.

The house, located on Calle Cabecico seven, is intended primarily to immigrant women with or without dependents and who is in need of accommodation.

It has a capacity for eight people, including women and children.

It has all the necessary services and consists of two floors: the ground floor bedroom, office, living room, kitchen, pantry, laundry, bathroom and patio and upstairs there are three bedrooms, lounge, car wash and ironing and cleaning.

The way of working from home is governed by the Rules of Operation thereof, adopted unanimously in the heart of the corporation dated September 30, 2008 and published in the BORM on 30 October this year.

The care home is permanent, 24 hours, 365 days a year.

The services provided at home are: information and assessment, shelter, counseling, legal advice.

Human resources are there in the house are: a social worker and the support of all staff, professionals and resources of Social Services.
