The 'Messiah' Handel was first performed in Dublin in 1742.
It is considered by many as his greatest triumph, and success of this oratorio Handel prompted to write many more, was so important to the relationship of mind that had it with "The Messiah", that although it directed more than thirty times, never charged a single penny for it, that was the tribute that left him to God.
"Messiah" by Handel is one of the works reviewed by Mozart, he arranged in 1789, commissioned by Baron van Swieten, the 'Messiah' Handel's work that the Salzburg studied with dedication.
'The Messiah' is the best-known work by George Frideric Handel, but should not be regarded as property, as it occupies a unique place in the extraordinary collection of Handel oratorios.
The work was composed in London in 1741, with extraordinary speed (three weeks).
The custom link this work to Christmas, but we must not forget that this oratorio is not only about the birth of Jesus, but throughout his life.
A few months after being made, the work premiered in Ireland, during a tour of Handel, but the grand opening did not arrive until 1742 in the New Music Hall in Dublin for a charity concert.
