The mayor, the project manager and members of the media, visited the collective center (02/11/2009)

Jumilla Mayor Francisco Abellán, the project manager and members of the media visited the Multipurpose Center for groups and associations of the locality.

Several council members also attended and were invited spokespersons of the city.

The aim of this visit, according Abellán, is "to share with this work and its characteristics, and to receive proposals in a work that is running the council with the help of the Ministry of Public Administration."

According to the mayor and confirmed Works director John Simon, this building will be completed later this year, which once required by the regulation of their distribution and use, could be in operation for the month of March 2010.

Simon reported that it is a building next to the court, built on a plot of more than 300 square meters and 1,500 square meters.

The project manager added that "what was projected and what is has been implemented consisting of a cafeteria and two function rooms, four floors and a final, semiático, with thirty offices in total for these groups to develop their activities. "

This center will also install the local radio station.

The building is designed with all facilities, full air conditioning and all necessary points of electricity, common areas, toilets, stores, etc.

The building is flexible, "there are firms of different sizes, but also has become very modular, meaning that if at any given time, an office that has become too large can be easily split into two that might be more profitable or instead, "said John Simon.

For his part, Francisco Abellán said: "The aim is to house all social, cultural, sports, health, and any guy who has Jumilla with more than 108 associations."

The mayor said "there are some groups that are institutional such as the regulator, we are paying to rent the hall to do business, in which the rent could save us when they have their headquarters here and many others who are in precarious conditions which are not the most appropriate and could develop a social and cultural one. "

The maximum local authority reported that "this center will be equipped with all amenities, telephones, electricity and furniture, which will facilitate the town hall but consumption, will have specific counters that the collective pay do use. "

In the entrance hall and a cafe will be open, including Saturdays and Sundays, "because the building is to have constant activity, with two halls and the truth is that we are doing with great enthusiasm," said Abellán.

On its operations, the mayor said that "it will prepare a management regulation and a concession to the groups, among all political groups to decide.

The criteria will be demanding two things: that is a partnership that works and come on a regular basis, to develop a social order or a permanent interest and have to behave responsibly, and we're talking about public facilities. "

Finally, the Francisco Abellán appreciated the part taken the media "because the aim also of this visit is to receive, from now on, opinions and suggestions of how to finish decorating the building, what use can give to any of the spaces, etc. We want the outcome of this project is participatory, as this building is going to be the representative of civil society and participatory with their arms, which are the collective.
