The president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), José Salvador Fuentes Zorita, today visited works in Jumilla Special Plan for Drought and met with the mayor, Francisco Abellán.
The basin agency has conducted a survey and a pipeline to ensure supply to the citizens, amounting to 379,072.67 euros.
First, the CHS in 2008 made a hole bound to supply Jumilla, aimed at replacing the so-called Cabras II survey, which was in disrepair.
The new well was drilled with an initial diameter of 750 mm and a depth of 290 meters.
As regards water connection, the Hydrographic Confederation has proceeded to run a pipe that allows water supply to homes of the sites of Los Arenales and The Pines, a work whose first sections also serve, in future, for potable water piping to the Encebras, Jumilla hamlet that also has problems with drinking water.
The water line has a total length of 3,884 meters, connected to the existing urban water supply network at the intersection of Camino de Alicante with the Way of the French and then for 2,022 meters, runs along the local road side (Camino de Alicante) to the junction with the regional A-15 where, for another 1,862 meters, runs along the right margin.
Other investments
Finally, CHS has committed more than two million euros to various works in the town of Highland.
Most importantly, the amount of 2,066,900 euros, is the protection of watercourses, the Moro and the Raja and the Jew.
Has also been made to clean the latter avenue and the Farmhouse, and the conditioning of access to the wetland Charco del Zorro.
