During the past 26, 27 and 28, visited our city a group of 16 technicians in subsurface geological investigations mainly focused on research of oil and the burial of CO2.
These GESSAL company technicians were interested in making a quick update on the Geology of the Altiplano, in recognition of the potential surface and in-depth study.
In the town of Jumilla visited outcrops of the Sierra Larga, La Hoya de la Sima, the Sierra de las Cabras and Celia mines.
They were also able to observe the most important characteristics of the geology of the region as the geometry of the mountains and the relationship of the Salt diapirs of the Rose and Peppers with recent tectonic mobility.
This meeting was organized by Professor Lorenzo Vilas, along with Francisco Coruña, both from the University Complutense of Madrid, in collaboration with the Municipal Museum through Cayetano Herrero.
