City and Control Board Wine DO Jumilla signed a cooperation agreement (11/05/2009)

The Mayor of Jumilla, Francisco Abellán Martinez and President of the Council of the Designation of Origin Jumilla, Miguel Gil Vera have signed recently a cooperation agreement between the institutions they represent.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Agriculture Councilman Jesus Sanchez.

The agreement is worth 9,000 euros and is the first such agreement reached between the two institutions in more than 40 years of history that holds the Regulatory Council of the DO Jumilla.

Its development has been possible thanks to the coordination between City Hall and the council of Agriculture and Industry Departments of the idea that entering into a collaboration agreement with the CRDO Jumilla.

The objective of this agreement is to collect the different measures of collaboration taking place in recent years between them as can be, the transfer of public spaces or provide bottles of wine labeled generically as a gift of those institutional acts deemed necessary, to the couple to add others such as the possibility of counseling, advocacy and promotion of business and industrial culture around the wine inside and outside the district, leading to the extent possible, jointly participation in fairs and events as permitted promotion, advice and / or full or partial cooperation projects for the development and / or modernization of the local wine industry through its Regulatory Board, also opens the possibility to develop activities with students from the various educational and training centers in the locality, to promote our culture and interest in engaging in any of the links that make the wine sector, among others.

There will also be collaboration between the two institutions on the LEADER program that was developed in the next three years for tourism innovation projects, tourism development, technological innovation are related to food and agriculture resources.

The term of this agreement is for one calendar year may be extended for four years.

Similarly, noted that the City of Jumilla provide the amount of 9,000 euros for the implementation of the Agreement and this agreement is not exclusive of any other action that could be undertaken jointly by both institutions in the next 12 months.
