About twenty children attended the town on Thursday April 23 at the Reading Marathon, held on the occasion of World Book Day.
It was an activity organized by the Department of Culture and the Public Library and made her small reading a part of the book of Juan Ramón Jiménez 'Platero y Yo'.
Juana Guardiola, Councillor of Culture has said it "was an activity organized by the council, parallel to those developed schools in Jumilla, and aims to promote and encourage reading."
Guardiola added that "reading was adapted to all ages, thinking that most of the participants would be children at the end, all were presented with a copy of the book to finish reading in their homes ".
The councilman of Culture said it was the second year we are celebrating this Marathon Children's Reading and "has been increasing number of people who have taken part in it and hopefully the next are also over."
Finally, Juan Guardiola encouraged "to children, young and old that we all participate in these activities."
