About 55 percent of the wines of Jumilla is intended to be sold to foreign markets (25/03/2009)

The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, said today that Jumilla wines "are selling very well in national and international markets" and explained that the total wine production dedicated to marketing, "a 55 percent goes to foreign markets, mainly Switzerland and Germany and the United States.

Councilor Murcia, which today unveiled the XV Certamen Quality Wines of Jumilla, recalled that "the vineyard is along with the almond cultivation of high environmental value to maintain our natural landscape and to avoid desertification."

Responsible for Agriculture noted that the wines produced under this name "are getting the best ratings and reviews by the most prestigious wine experts."

120 samples of Jumilla

The jury of the XV Certamen Quality Wines from Jumilla, whose tastings are held in the local council on Friday morning and will be composed of 18 professional tasters, most of them critical of the major national media.
