Jumilla Mayor Francisco Abellán and Local Red Cross president Elizabeth Lucas Navarro recently signed the annual agreement for the continuation of four social programs.
This agreement is an amount of 40,000 euros and is valid until December 31, 2009.
In the signature was present Councilwoman Mariana Gómez Social Policy and other officials of the Local Assembly Jumilla Red Cross.
The purpose of this agreement is to fund the four programs of public and social interest: Adapted Transportation Program Day Care, Leisure Social Programs for Seniors, Caregivers Training Programme and Project Information and Assistance to Immigrants by Local Red Cross.
As the first program, Red Cross is committed through this agreement, to make available the service of a vehicle day stays tailored to motor limitations of the beneficiaries, driver and support en route.
The service will be held from Monday to Friday, except holidays.
On the program of the Office for Attention to Immigrants, the Red Cross is committed to carrying out this project as an additional resource to municipal services for immigrants.
This service aims, information, guidance and advice for the immigrant community, referral resources, processing of documents and residence permits and work, conflict resolution, mediation with consulates and embassies, Spanish classes, counseling, and the two workshops on hygiene and health, a social skills and a self-esteem.
As stated in this agreement, Red Cross undertakes to carry out the various recreational and leisure activities for the older group to be derived from the Program for the Elderly and Dependent Social Services Center.
Finally, the agreement includes conducting training programs for families and caregivers of dependent people with a socio-sanitary and activities on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day.
