In order to give continuity to two programs that have been developing for some months, the city of Jumilla and Physically Disabled Association of Jumilla (AMFIJU) signed recently a partnership agreement.
The agreement has an economic cost of 20,000 euros and is valid from January 1 to December 31, 2009.
The programs affected by this agreement is the home help in parishes and Transport Programme for People with mobility limitations for making representations to the municipality.
The agreement was signed between the Mayor of Jumilla Francisco Abellán and AMFIJU President Juan Gil.
Abellán stressed the importance of this type of agreement that "demonstrate the collaboration of the administration and these groups with important social purposes."
The agreement also addresses one of the statutory objectives of AMFIJU which reflects the contribution in the integration of disabled persons, carrying out all actions aimed at improving their quality of life, and to collaborate with the Administration development of them, trying to minimize or eliminate the obstacles that prevent or hinder the mobility of users both inside and outside the home.
On the first program, Amfiju is committed to hiring a home help assistant who will service Monday to Friday, as well as coordinating and supervising the work of the same, maintaining close coordination with the Social Worker Program Coordinator for the Elderly and Dependent Social Services Center.
For his part, as the Adapted Transport Service for People with mobility limitations, it shall be from Monday to Friday, except holidays, in morning and evening, picking up the same at home, the village or hamlets, and moving them to where they have to make the management of other medical, administrative, ... and then returning them home.
