Fifteen immigrant women have attended a vocational training course on cooking (10/03/2009)

Since the middle of last February has been developed in Jumilla Cooking course aimed at immigrant women.

Have attended a total of 15 people and ended on Tuesday 10 March.

It is an occupational training course is part of the Reception and Integration Program for Immigrants.

The aim of this course of Cooking "was to provide attendees the skills needed for integration into the labor market, since, by its very nature, are more difficult," said the councilman said Mariana Gomez Social Policy.

This activity has been carried out at the restaurant Duke of Lerma, who has given their facilities for this purpose.

The course has been taught by a specialist company which is the Local Initiatives running program activities.

Has had a theoretical and practical.

In the theoretical part has been said about the handling of food and what it means to be a kitchen helper, professional and functions.

Most of the course has been the practice, which have been carried out recipes for 'spoon' and 'stews'.

Has also taught the participants desserts, with different cakes, how to 'half moon', pastry cream and donuts.

This part has also taught how to make incoming and, especially, the use of raw materials that many of the attendees, being of other countries, did not know, like beans or artichokes, as well as cooking on a budget, with basic raw materials.
