The Department of Cooperation has announced a campaign for collecting material from the toilet (22/01/2009)

Last Wednesday was presented the work in the project 'El Salvador' 2008, executed by the NGO 'Fire In Action', with the collaboration of the Cooperation Department of the City of Jumilla.

In this event, attended by dozens, the Councillor responsible for Cooperation Mariana Gomez announced the upcoming Jumilla a campaign for collecting material from the toilet, gel, diapers, wipes, shampoo, etc.

The aim of this campaign, which will be released soon, is to send this material to various institutions, hospitals, schools, orphanages and centers of El Salvador.

The councilman said that "we have been to places that do not have the essentials: soap, blankets, medical supplies, beds, surgical equipment, incubators, wheelchairs ... even in hospitals, the rooms are 20 and 30 patients with walls and ceilings full of moisture and broken window panes. "

Thus, Mariana Gomez added, "any help is very important to these areas of the world, since the gaps are huge and also very large needs."

For his part, Juan Cayuela spoke of how important aid to this Central American country.

He stressed that "what we do in Fire in Action is to deliver all this material in hand, giving us assurance that everything comes to sites that need it most."

Cayuela also referred to the human aspect of what these projects represent "the people are very grateful and receive this support with enthusiasm and affection and we prove it every visit."

In the presentation, project managers, coordinated by Juan Cayuela, along with Councilwoman Cooperation, unveiled all actions taken on the trip to that country which took place last November, and the overall work carried out 'Fire in Action. "

Through images showed the training tasks they have accomplished, both firefighters from the area as communities and groups, in proceedings in case of disasters and emergencies.

Also showed photographs of the shares of distribution of humanitarian aid to various institutions in El Salvador, as the 'old people's homes Sara Zaldivar,' the 'Orphanage Vito Guarato Disabled Children', the 'Children's Hospital Benjamin Bloom' and 'Hospital of The Union ", among many others.

At these institutions is made delivery of medical supplies, school supplies, clothing, cleaning supplies, orthopedic aids, etc., Based on the demand made last year to the NGO.

Similarly, both the organization as the City gathered on this trip the needs of these institutions and others in the area for collaboration on future projects.
