Integrated Training Center and Agricultural Experiences (CIFE), Jumilla, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, today provided an Introduction to wine tasting which will work, among other matters, the taste and the proper Storage white, rosé and red wines.
The course, free and with 70 percent of practical content, is aimed at catering professionals, women and youth, will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 16:00 to 20:00 hours until the next 26 January in the facilities of the CIFE.
Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance and proficiency at the end of it.
For the development of the various courses and seminars that are taught in it, the center has modern facilities and cellar practices, wine analysis laboratory, tasting room, experimental farm, a computer room, library and residence for further technical studies boarding.
Pioneers in the title of Senior Technician in Wine
In these facilities, the Ministry provides for the first time in our country during the year 2008-2009, the degree of Technician in Viticulture.
This is a top-level training cycle that has this first year with more than 20 students.
This cycle consists of 2,000 teaching hours spread over two academic eminently practical.
These studies respond to the request of the regional wine sector that demands training to enable them to compete on quality and innovation.
Moreover, the CIFE of Jumilla, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, has recently published the illustrated booklet 'Introduction to wine tasting' in which Emilio J.
Casanova and Marta Cano, director and professor, respectively, of CIFE, addressed in a clear and affordable, essential aspects such as conditioning and auto-taster, practical rules for the tasting, the phases visual, olfactory and gustatory, as well as the characteristics of different wines (white, pink, red and red rearing).
