The construction of a new velodrome in Jumilla is going to be a reality next year 2009, and is confirmed spokesman Jesus Sanchez and Councilman Jose Luis Monreal Sports after the last full agreement.
The extraordinary plenary session held last week unanimously approved an annex to the collaboration between the region and the municipality of Jumilla, in the Sports Facilities Plan II, for changing the name of action in Jumilla, which was the "Field of Artificial Grass" and is already built and in operation, "building Velodrome."
Jesus Sanchez has reported that the City Council in this Convention undertakes to perform a loan to pay for these works which the Autonomous Community, through the General Directorate of Sports, return them within 10 years.
The Autonomous Community, with this agreement, a subsidy of 300,000 euros for the construction of the velodrome.
In this sense, the Councillor for Sports José Luis Monreal, has reported that the blueprint for this construction is complete.
It will be a velodrome with pavement art, fully certified for international events, with bleachers, locker rooms and lighting towers.
Also in the center will be two basketball courts and a football.
The new velodrome is located in the old track of the stake.
The Department of Sports will offer to all local groups that is called 'Velodrome Bernardo Gonzalez, "because that's where he prepared his two Olympics this great rider Jumillano that provided so much satisfaction to Jumillano" said Monreal.
After signing the agreement and the procedures for tendering and award, construction will begin next year to build this sports facility.
