Francisco Abellán, Mayor of Jumilla, recently reported a series of measures that the Central Government has proposed to act at this time of economic crisis.
Thanks to these measures, Jumilla could receive 4 million for public works.

Abellán has indicated that "the Council of Ministers has agreed a package of measures for public investment with a total of 11,000 million euros to be used to create a municipal investment fund of 8,000 million euros and a fund for the dynamic actions the economy of 3,000 million euros. "
The Mayor also added that "this plan of action affects the municipalities as part of this money will be allocated to investments that generate urgent work and have new employment locally."
"In total, the projects submitted to qualify for aid under these public works will be up to 5 million euros of investment," said the top local authority.
May be submitted any plans to collect works of adaptation, rehabilitation and improvement of public spaces and industrial promotion, social facilities, health, educational, cultural and sports facilities or infrastructure of basic services in the sewer, lighting, telecommunications and suppression architectural barriers, environmental protection and pollution prevention, energy conservation and efficiency, conservation of local heritage and historical heritage, a network of water supply, wastewater treatment works or urban waste management and the prevention and suppression services fires.

This project involves the rehabilitation of the northern part of Jumilla.
"The idea is to improve access to the castle, create bike lanes, make a clearing for parking, lighting and make a great lookout" he said.

Alongside all this, Francisco Abellán explained that these are ideas that should arrive at an agreement with the other political groups to study their proposals and will eventually be full to decide what projects will be carried out.
Finally, Abellán noted that perhaps the creation of an office or job vacancies in the council where data are collected for people who are currently unemployed to try that in a few months they are working.
