Next week begins in Jumilla Literacy Workshop for immigrant women, as reported by the Councillor for Social Policy Mariana Gómez.
It is aimed at about 15 people and the aim is that "women should learn the language as a means of social integration and customs, especially in matters of hygiene, child care, housecleaning, etc.," Gomez said.
These actions are intended "to know the ways of doing things where they live and avoid situations that might cause conflicts," added the mayor.
This activity, workshops and other extracurricular activities and school support, are carried out by 'local initiatives' and are included within the programming Immigration Plan for 2008/2009, together with others that will begin soon.
