Last Monday was presented a Social Skills course that is taking place in Jumilla.
Mayor Francisco Abellán, Councilwoman Mariana Gómez Social Policy and Director General of Pensions, Assessment and Inclusion Programs, John Brown released the contents.
A presentation was also attended by students and instructors.
This course is organized by the city of Jumilla and funded by the Instituto Murciano Social Action.
Consists of 180 contact hours and involves a total of 15 students.
It lasts until February 12 and the classes are held in the auditorium of the local police units.
The course is taught by the company and Local Initiatives psychologists and Felipe González María Prats.
Francisco Abellán indicated that it is an activity that "requires a huge effort for the municipality, but the most important thing is that the students put all the interest in it."
The mayor added that the aim "is to develop the whole person in all areas and facilitate field trips and social work."
For its part, Mariana Gomez said that "it has been possible through the cooperation of the City of Jumilla and Murcia Institute for Social Action (IMAS)."
"We have great expectations for all students and must take this course," Mariana Gómez recommended to attendees.
Similarly, general director Juan Castaño Pension Valuation and Inclusion Programs indicated that "local and regional government we agree to complete these courses."
He added that "the most important are the students, and what little we ask for is to work, attend and participate, as this can help the labor market for workers."
Finally he explained that after this first level course there is the possibility of another next year, Level 2.
The general objectives of the course are to facilitate the social integration of the population is at risk of social exclusion and promote social skills acquisition as a means of better integration, promote the acquisition of healthy habits and promote education for development social person.
This course will cover topics including the process, methods and manuals for literacy, learning styles, educational activities for learning literacy and arithmetic, communication, improving relationships with others, active listening, self-management skills, conflict resolution, healthy living habits, health education, responsible consumption, area of household management, and self-esteem, motivation, social perception, dynamic and cohesive group and introduction to computer science, among others.
