Last week was the official transfer of adapted vehicle donated by the Fundación Caja Murcia to the town of Jumilla and transport for older people Health Center.
The event was attended by the Mayor and Councilwoman Francisco Abellán Juan Guardiola Finance and by the Caja Murcia territorial director Pilar García de Cossio, Eduardo Zone Chief Ortín and director of the Office of Jesús Gil Jumilla Morcillo.
This is a Ford Transit van, perfectly adapted and equipped with retractable step, fastening rails, folding ramp, wheelchair anchorages and seat belts for these seats, among other features.
The vehicle will be available to users in hours of care and "possibly a hotline to enable use of this service."
Has a cost of 25,300 euros.
Francisco Abellán, said that the vehicle "is intended to transport the elderly, especially those living in the districts, which can not move by themselves or have no means to go to the Health Center."
The mayor added that it has signed an agreement between the council AMFIJU and Social Policy to provide two very important services to the districts.
On the one hand, the home help service and other collection services for people with engine failures or lack of movement that will need help to take them to health centers as the Center for Health Specialties.
This agreement with AMFIJU has meant an expenditure of 8,500 euros of which 4,500 will be used to pay the driver of this vehicle.
Abellán thanked "the gesture with Caja Murcia have Jumillano and from the council show our appreciation, we also guarantee that this new vehicle will serve a social purpose, general, common and defendant."
For its part, the territorial director of Caja Murcia was "pleased to be in Jumilla for delivery of this vehicle that will serve to support and contribute to the welfare of all citizens."
Pilar García de Cossio highlighted the work of the Mayor of Jumilla, "because it is making the town of Jumilla get some improvements, social and cultural rights, on behalf of all citizens."

CajaMurcia Foundation began to carry out collaborative projects with various municipalities in 2007 and has since delivered more than 100 vehicles adapted.
The objective of this project is to comply with social action and respond to the commitment they have with society.
