Last Monday started a training workshop for carers of dependent persons, organized by the Department of Social Policy in collaboration with the Local Red Cross in Jumilla.
At this first meeting was attended by thirty-five people, according to the council responsible for this area Mariana Gómez.
This workshop consists of three sessions of two hours each.
It offers three consecutive Mondays, the hours of 17.00 to 19.00 in the Municipal House of Culture José Yagüe.
In this first session, which was given by Rafael Valero, Red Cross nurse, it was what the Alzheimer's disease and how family dynamics affect having a patient with this problem.
The attendees showed interest in the topic and participated very actively, so the talk was mainly driven by questions from participants.
Mariana Gomez added that the council has scheduled another workshop of this kind for the month of October, "so that people interested can both Social Services and in the local Red Cross."
This workshop is included in an agreement signed between local government and Red Cross Jumilla.
