Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Salvi Perez and the coach area, Paqui Ruiz, presented yesterday the First Contest of micro Equality, which is convened on the occasion of the celebration of Women's Day (March 8).
"The main goal is to prevent all forms of discrimination, to raise awareness and sensitize the public towards a change in the pattern of social relationship between men and women," said the councilor.
They may be young people between 14 and 18, who are studying in a secondary school in the village participate.
Each author may submit up to two works.
The theme will be equality between men and women in all its aspects.
The texts must be written in Spanish, with correct spelling and may not exceed 150 words.
The deadline for micro-stories is now open and will end on 29 February at 14.00.
The micro-stories will be presented at the Center for Social Care Services Department of Equality and inquiries may be made by mail or phone areaigualdad@jumilla.org 968782020 extension 211.
Entries should be submitted unsigned, in a sealed envelope, and inside of it include another sealed envelope with the following information: name, address, ID number, phone, school, group and name tutor.
There will be a first prize of a voucher for 100 euros in sports equipment as well as a second and a third of 70 and 50 euros respectively, also in sports equipment.
The jury will be composed by the Councillor for Social Policy and Equality, the techniques of this council and two individuals with knowledge of the subject to be determined.
The jury will be made public on Friday, March 4 through the website www.jumilla.org.
