Councillor for Culture, Pilar Martinez and the director of the section of Ethnography and Natural Sciences Municipal Museum Jerónimo Molina, Cayetano Herrero, gave by inaugurated last night in an exhibition on the Esparto in Jumilla, which involves exposing Esparto utensils, tools related to craft, small wooden machinery and a set of photographs and documents of the time related to the theme.
Esparto has been very important for the economy of the town, belonging to the common mountains Jumilla neighbors, the letter of privilege granted by King Pedro I of Castile in the fourteenth century and still in force, large part of it.
The mayor of Culture has stressed that: "With this exhibition we want to value the natural and intangible heritage related Esparto Jumilla".
Will be open until 31 December.
