The October 15, 1940, the Group of Songs and Dances of Jumilla Francisco Salzillo was making his first public performance.
75 years after the group remains very much alive and active and celebrated the anniversary with a gig at a packed Plaza de la Constitution.
Then it opened in the ethnography section of the Municipal Museum Jerónimo Molina exposure 'traditional clothing in Spain', which will run until November 15.
He intervened Councillor for Culture, Maria Pilar Martinez, who praised the work and dedication of this group for so many years and appreciated the richness of the photographs, a collection that has taken six years to complete.
Also present was the treasurer of the Federation of Songs and Dances of Spain (FACYDE) Saorín Jesus, who stressed that it is an honor to have among its members a group that meets 75 years and has visited many corners of Spain and the world bearing the name of Jumilla.
Also they intervened to give inaugurated the exhibition, the director of the section of Ethnography Museum, Cayetano Herrero, and the president of the Group of Songs and Dances of Jumilla, Marta Abellán.
