The general director of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Teodora Carmen Morales, visited yesterday afternoon Jumilla several places to see first hand the damage from the hail on Sunday.
He also traveled to affected areas of Abarán and Yecla and was accompanied by officials from the District Agricultural Offices and affected the regions of the Altiplano and Vega Alta del Segura, as well as the mayors of Abarán, Jesus Molina, Jumilla, Juan Guardiola, and Blanca, Pedro Molina, and representatives of Coag-Ir, and Fecoam Apoexpa.
The Ministry of Agriculture has already released the first data losses, valuing at about 6.5 million.
In total, the three municipalities have been more than 3,500 hectares affected.
The most affected crops are the vineyard with 2,034 hectares, fruit (700), olive (500), table grapes (150) and vegetables (50).
The damage in the vineyards of Jumilla has been of great importance in cluster, to produce an advance in areas vintage where the grapes had not completed their maturation.

For his part, Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola said that once the Department of Agriculture completed the report on the damages, if the data reflect this disaster area declaration will be requested.
