Yesterday was held in the council room of the City of Jumilla the first coordination meeting for the 'Jumilla, city-haven' project becomes effective.
Present were the mayor of Jumilla, Juan Guardiola, representatives of the three local political groups, as well as municipal and local committees responsible for Red Cross and Caritas Jumilla technicians.
In this first round table it was put together the free disposal of municipal property could be used to house refugees.
Jumilla put eight of the ten places that comprise the Shelter Street Cabecico, since two are currently occupied.
This provision will be communicated to the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which is the body representing municipalities and coordinates the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality and the central government in this regard.
Resources and financial support they get from the government of Spain and the European Union are managed through NGOs, in the case of Jumilla will be channeled through the Red Cross and Caritas.
