Jumilla took another step in the fight against gender violence, with the constitution last year, the Local Coordination Committee against Gender Violence, which this past week held its second session, to pool and coordinate the resources available to various organizations and institutions that have something to do with the struggle of gender violence.
The main objective of this statutory body, to coordinate all actions that are made on gender violence in both the intervention and prevention, so that officers are represented all the organizations and institutions that deal with this struggle from the field of education to health, to Local Police, Civil Guard, and various departments besides their regional government.
Within the Bureau have been represented the Department of Equality, with the councilor responsible for the area and the agent of equality, psychologists CAVI and Social Services Centre, in addition to the social worker and the legal adviser of CAVI.
Moreover also they attended by the agent in charge of domestic violence in the post of the Civil Guard in Jumilla, local police, medical charge of these issues in the health center, the Chief of the SEF of Jumilla and responsible for Employment Guidance for victims of domestic violence, and a team representative Educational orientation of Jumilla.
During the meeting, among other issues, the various protocols of the organizations and institutions involved were agreed, as Department of Equality, Department of Social Services, Health Center, Education, Local Police and Civil Guard are.
As highlighted by the Minister for Equality, Alicia Abellan, "this body makes an important form of work and prevention of action against gender violence, since all the resources that we have institutions that work in this area to coordinate local and regional level, thus increasing actions against gender violence from different areas. "
