The director general of schools in the Region of Murcia, María Dolores Valcárcel Jumilla visited this morning to meet with the mayor, Enrique Jimenez and the Councillor for Education, Alicia Abellan, and pooling educational needs that Jumilla, and learn firsthand some of the town centers.
As highlighted by the Councillor for Education, "the director comes today to address the problems of schools in Jumilla, demonstrating the interest and importance of Jumilla for the Ministry of Education as a whole, and there are facts to see that this concern is evident. For its part, the director general underlined as "from the Ministry of Education, counselor to the head, there have been a number of investments necessary and important in Jumilla, about one million euros to this town, in just two years, among which are also the centers aimed at maintaining the focus on expanding educational facilities, as has been the Municipal Nursery School, a service that has more to Jumilla. "
About the new school, Maria Dolores Valcárcel stressed as "already underway the project and for implementation with an investment of 3,300,000 euros".
He also pointed out that investments in infrastructure aid must be added social, "more than 80,000 euros, more than 600 families aid for textbooks and school meals".
After a brief meeting in the city of Jumilla, the general manager, accompanied by the mayor and the councilor, visited some schools.
First, they have been in the CEIP Our Lady of the Assumption, where earlier this year, took place an important work, demanded by the educational community since 1999. With an investment of 140,000 euros, the Autonomous Community financed the renovation of the cover, ensuring the safety of facilities and improving energy efficiency center.
Furthermore, it was also performed on the water pipes to prevent moisture and inside the same.
Another of the centers visited the general manager, has been the CEIP Miguel Hernández, where he talked with its director, José García Cerezo, on some requirements as replacing child classroom located in the courtyard of the CEIP Miguel Hernandez.
In this center, last year, the City Council also made a significant investment to replace the windows of the classrooms on the upper floor where a total of fifteen windows were changed in order to optimize energy resources heating building.
