The Councillor for Social Policy, John Calabuig, met yesterday with social associations of Jumilla, to present the grant program promoted by the Municipality, through which more than 63,000 euros will be distributed among the projects submitted and finally approved for social purposes.
Through this initiative will enable Jumilla associations with projects aimed at social benefit, to develop the proposed programs with a financial contribution that will face the City.
In the 2015 budget, thus, a heading for this program provides grants of 63,600 euros, to be shared among the applicants associations, depending on their reports, which will be thoroughly assessed according to the rules that are adopted.
The associations can benefit from these grants are those non-profit, whose social work has to do with family and children, the elderly, people with disabilities, immigrants and at risk of social exclusion, women and equality.
The evaluation committee will be composed of the heads of services and programs of the Center for Social Services, so that prevail purely technical aspects and socially profitable.
No may request grants for projects that already have budgetary appropriation, but said "yes for other social, that are not currently funded by the City."
In the current budget into force on subsidies, for the year 2015 were increased to 113,000 euros those relating to social policy, so that 217,450 euros were allocated during the year.
Among the highlights programs, charitable care that goes from 60,000 to 80,000 euros, plus 15,000 for grants to unemployed persons, large families and pensioners.
Moreover, aid is passed urgent need of 2-5000 euros, in addition to this game than 63,000 euros for social collectives.
