The mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, participated this weekend in the General Assembly of the Spanish Association of Wine Cities held in Ronda these days, which has represented Jumilla, as second vice president of the board, and the who was also present for the first time, the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, represented by the Minister of Industry, Tourism, Enterprise and Innovation, Juan Carlos Ruiz.
On the one hand, on Thursday, the mayor attended the Management Committee of the Ruta del Vino, accompanied by the president of the Wine Route Jumilla, Sebastián García, where two new certifications were approved.
On Friday the meeting of the Board of ACEVIN, where the mayor proposed as second vice president of the Board, the regional government's intention to host the next General Assembly Community occurred.
The Minister Juan Carlos Ruiz, and defended it later during the celebration of the Assembly where he excelled as "would be delighted to welcome the representatives of the cities of wine in Spain".
It also indicated that "the intention of the regional government to join the Spanish Association of Wine Cities is to support, coordinate and promote the three routes of wines from the region of Murcia, which are Jumilla, Yecla and Bullas."
He added, "is part of our commitment to seasonality and support our products inside, as an alternative to the supply of sun and beach".
The regional head of Tourism said during his speech at Ronda that "what has brought us here is the enthusiasm of our three wine routes, which have proven to be an example of collaboration and good work."
He also invited all attendees to visit the Region of Murcia, "where they can share their passion for wine in a community where they will always be welcome."
Finally the mayor also took part Friday RECEVIN Assembly, in which the amendment of the statutes was discussed a proposal from Italy and Portugal.
