Dozens of women from Jumilla, yesterday celebrated Women's Day with an event organized by the Department of Equality, Women Jumilla Route II ended with a meal of coexistence among participants.
The route began at the Plaza Arriba, and throughout the tour, Jumillano historian María Rosa Gualda, accompanied the visit explaining tidbits about some of the main sites and monuments, as well as highlighting what has been the role of women throughout history.
The Parish of Santiago was in this way, the second stop on the route, which continued through the Garden of the Sewers, and the Garden of Frogs and ends in the city of Jumilla.
Here, the Group Thalia Theater, staged a play highlighting the different states that a woman experiences throughout the various stages of his life, putting in value the qualities of women.
Throughout the week the Department has organized several activities to mark Women's Day.
From the "Drawing Equality" contest, in which more than 700 children of the town, to a sample of handicrafts made by the Association of Bank Women's Experiences, cineforum session, the talk of the School of Empowerment also dedicated to Women's Day, with the workshop "Trusting myself" or the Open Day CAI, which was being visited by dozens of parents and parents who were interested throughout Saturday morning, for center facilities.
Councillor for Equality, Alicia Abellán, thanked the participation of all women and associations who have attended each of these activities, which as indicated "is a luxury to have again with so many people working with the Department, without which would not be possible to work as we are doing, and that allow equality, joint work and thus achieving a growing social involvement. It is time to take stock of progress made and to further reaffirming the commitment of the full equality of rights and opportunities between men and women, and that's what we want with the commemoration of March 8, and the work of the whole year. "
Finally, he thanked participation in all activities and encouraged to continue doing so.
UPCOMING APPOINTMENTS
The activity of the Department continues Thursday with a session devoted to female sexuality within the School Empowerment, to be held this Thursday from 17.00 to 18.30 at the Roque Baños.
Also today opened Monday, March 9, the deadline for enrollment in the School of Holy Week CAI, aimed at children aged 3-8 years which will be offered at 9.00 am to 14.00.
