The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, in collaboration with the City of Jumilla, has completed the works of replacing cement cover school and Primary Education of Our Lady of the Assumption with a new composite structure.
This action, which represents an investment of 133,871.37 euros means having at school with a higher thermal insulation and therefore greater comfort for teachers and students, as well as improved energy efficiency center.
The secretary general of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, Manuel Marcos Sánchez, and the general director of Educational Centers, María Dolores Valcárcel visited this morning the center accompanied local mayor, Enrique Jimenez, and the Councillor for Education, Alicia Abellán, to check the improvements developed in the center.
"We undertake many projects throughout the year, and we tried all made in summer, but it is not always possible, this has been the case of Our Lady of the Assumption in Jumilla, which has had to run quickly, half of course, although this has not prevented it done as quickly as possible, "stressed the secretary general of the Ministry.
Also highlighted as "during these two months that has developed the work, the students have been well attended, and next Monday back to school quite normally, to a center with a new roof, now and yes, meets all the safety with which it had before. "
Also pointed Manuel Marcos Sanchez as "we are satisfied with how the works have been executed, and continue working for other educational issues in the town, next, as announced Councilor Pedro Antonio Sánchez, will be building the new school to replace the Prince Felipe, with an investment of 3,300,000 euros. At the moment it is proceeding with the recruitment of technical project, so that may be tendered for summer work, which will begin in September and October. "
As explained on his part, Mayor of Jumilla, "thanks to the efforts of the Ministry have been able to undertake this work, which has changed the whole deck, with a budget of 135,000 euros".

The works, which have been developed over the past two months have consisted in removing the front cover, fiber cement, for a new composite based on sandwich panels finished in tile form.
This Friday the transfer of all the furniture and the preparation of the Center, so that on Monday, is expected to schoolchildren and incorporate into their regular classes start.
At present, the CEIP Our Lady of the Assumption has six units of Early Childhood Education in studying 143 students and twelve of Primary Education in which they study a total of 266 schoolchildren.
In recent years, investment in educational infrastructure has been of 1,361,977 euros in the town of Jumilla, where the Ministry of Education plans to build a new school in which 3.3 million euros will be invested.
Also during this course the Ministry of Education has allocated nearly 90,000 euros to school meals and school supplies for 636 families of Jumilla.
