Once you have completed work on sealing vessels 1, 2 and 3 of the municipal landfill, tomorrow is going to perform an activity organized by the Department of Environment, with the participation of students from schools, Cruz de Piedra, Carmen Conde and Santa Ana schools that were awarded by the City of Jumilla, in the drawing contest "Arbor Day".
Students visit tomorrow the landfill, and plant grass seed, and pine, contributing to reforestation and environmental recovery of the area.
The City Council has arranged a bus to transport the nearly hundred students participate tomorrow in the activity, which will also be attended by the General Director of Environment, Encarnación Molina, and the Mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez.
For this reason, today the Chief of Environment, Victoria Martinez has moved to the participating centers, to explain to students that collaborate in reforestation, the importance of recycling and sealing the landfill, in order to avoid atmospheric and groundwater pollution.
Concepts like what a waste, the obligation of people as having waste treatment, the importance of separating to recycle, the obligation of the City Council regarding their transport and treatment, and the need for greater awareness against recycling, have been some of the issues discussed with students during the lecture.
After the activity, has taken delivery of some backpacks are funded by Ecoembes and the Department of Environment.
