The City of Jumilla kept a minute of silence as a sign of support to France by the terrorist attack on the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, which have killed twelve people.
The mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez led the minute of silence, which have joined also councilors of the Municipal Corporation, officers and employees of the City of Jumilla.
The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) called on local authorities to would join in this way to the rejection of the Spanish local administration, barbaric terrorist acts that pose a direct attack on public freedoms, general and against freedom of expression and religion in particular.
The mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, expressed his conviction, noting in this regard that "it is inconceivable that in the times we are there people who can threaten the lives of people, for whatever reason, but all the more for religious reasons. With this minute of silence we join the pain of all French to condemn this attack, and remember that religion should always be a personal choice. "
