Again another year, the streets of Jumilla filled this past Saturday in solidarity athletes in the last sporting event of the year, the race Popular Christmas Solidarity 2014, which this year brought together 380 runners who were raised about 1,000 kilos food, and 1,495 euros that will benefit from Jumilla Red Cross.
With significant involvement of runners coming out of Jumilla, the test was started at 17.30 pm, with a distance of 6 km along the main streets of the city.
Patricio Puche Palao was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 19 minutes and 50 seconds.
In second place was Joaquín Hernández Rubio, eleven seconds behind the winner, and in third place Alberto Sánchez López was classified
In the women, the best athlete was jumillana Pruden Guerrero Cruz, with a time of 26 minutes and 32 seconds;
Laura Lorenzo was second in the overall podium (0:28:20 minutes), which was completed by Andrea Hernandez (0:30:33 minutes).
One of the characteristics of the test, costumes, no shortage this year, the first prize in this eighth edition for the Ring and his boxers.
The "balls" became the second prize, and "Ants" with the third.
Since Red Cross has made a very positive test, with the collection of 1,000 kilos of food staples and economic settlement which reached € 1,495, which will go to the campaign now + Than Ever the organization being developed in the city serving the poorest families in the municipality.
For his part, Councillor for Sports, Juan Manuel Abellán, highlighted the "involvement Jumillano people that a year has gone as expected to the call of the Red Cross, bringing the sport to solidarity, resulting in an outstanding participation of riders in a test edition after edition consolidates ".
