To mark the start of the school year, the Youth Council has taken up the project of Strengthening Education aimed at children and youth at sociocultural disadvantage.
The project involves the implementation of a plan of educational support outside school hours, for schoolchildren from primary and first cycle of ESO, with the aim of preventing and reducing the problems of failure, absenteeism and dropout are given in the township.
The project is in collaboration with the Department of Social Outreach and Volunteerism at the University of Murcia, and are university students interested in participating classes offer educational support to students referred from schools for two sessions weekly hour and a half each.
This promotion and personal integration of children and young people from the school, family and social environment, through a process of capacity development is favored.
In addition it helps prevent and reduce problems of failure, absenteeism and early school leaving.
Moreover, the program also benefits the university students in charge of giving extra tuition classes.
Interested individuals will receive a certificate stating the hours of voluntary action, which may validate later by up to 4.5 elective credits.
Besides university certified and receive specific training for the proper performance of the activity, as well as support and advice for their development.
