The Department of Health by the Humane Association, 4 outriggers Jumilla, will develop a pioneering project in Santa Ana, in order to bring a solution to the uncontrolled proliferation of feral cats in this area of ​​town.
To explain the actions to be carried out in this place, the Department and the Association will hold a meeting with the residents of the area who reside there, either throughout the year or during the summer, with so that know first hand how it will act, in addition to trying to resolve the doubts about the project, and add ideas at once.
The meeting will be held next Friday, July 25, near the convent of Santa Ana, at 20.30, and the same are invited all locals and those interested in attending.
Planned actions
The action that the Department and the Association have set out to accomplish called "ACR", "Catch, Neuter and Return" because it is the only effective method to control the growth of the population of stray and wild spending.
The ACR involves population control and permanent reduction of cats in the area, as well as reducing the spread of disease.
Furthermore neutered cats protect their territory, discouraging other cats neutered to move to this area, avoiding a new cycle of overpopulation.
The project will be explained and pooled with neighbors in the area, to which the Councillor for Health, Almudena Martinez has asked the maximum collaboration to develop this measure, with which as indicated by "integrity is respected animals, and is set to remedy the uncontrolled proliferation of cats in the area. "
