During the month of June, the Department of Culture has developed a series of conferences devoted to mineralogy, specifically focused on the crystals, through various presentations and lectures by leading academics and scholars in the field.
This coming Friday, Jumillano Angel Francisco Cutillas, will end the cycle, with the conference "World of Glass" to be held on Friday, at 20.30 pm in the Museum of Ethnography and Natural Sciences.
During the conference, Jumillano scholar, explained what the crystallography, a branch parallel to the mineralogy, and how different systems of representation, geometry, chemistry, and the relationship between atoms and molecules during the formation of the crystals work.
As has been said the speaker "will be a conference scientific basis but easily understood, with which I would like to bring the museum and the collection of glasses for all citizens and thus, when they visit the Section of Natural Sciences, know something more than what they see in it. "
Last week was Professor Luis Arrufat, who explained, in this case, micro minerals, a variety that can be seen only with a magnifying glass.
Thus Arrufat explained as the classification and identification of these minerals is done, and unveiled some home photography techniques and compared with those used by large research laboratories, and also discovered that it is not always necessary to have the best technique to discover new parts.
The presentation ended with an exhibition of photographs from the personal collection of Professor Arrufat, many Iberian System, which revealed to be a great lover, and various parts of the region over which highlighted the great wealth that counts South Peninsula.
