Among the activities that the Department of Environment is developing in collaboration with ECOEMBES during the months of May and June, there have been a number of initiatives with the aim of promoting social awareness of the separate collection and recycling of packaging.
Specifically this year, we have tried to influence the reduction of "inappropriate materials" erroneously deposited in containers, with the ultimate aim of increasing the quality of selective collection and enable improved overall recycling system.
To achieve this increased separate collection proper, the municipality of Jumilla has launched a media campaign with television spot, radio spots, newspaper ads, and banner in different local media.
And last Tuesday, June 10, the techniques of Environmental Service moved to Market, to distribute about 700 bags for recycling at home, which will facilitate the storage and shipment of waste containers to selectively installed by the municipality.
Furthermore various information material was distributed, and cleared the doubts of many citizens on the deposit of some residues in their respective containers for selective collection and subsequent disposal of these wastes.
Campaign was also extended by the Department of Equality with Recycled Beads Workshop held yesterday, Thursday at the Roque Baños Sociocultural Center, where bags were distributed data elements, and.

To this end, the town has a number of green dots, endowed with selective containers and a Municipal Ecoparque, management and storage of waste that pose greater difficulty of recycling.
RECYCLED DATA IN JUMILLA
This campaign will also serve to enhance and improve the pounds of waste deposited in the containers properly selective locality, since according to the latest data reported by managers who collect these wastes, the citizens of this county recycled in 2013 a total of 265,323 pounds of paper and cardboard, glass 290 920 kg, 77,540 kg of lightweight containers, 1,970 liters of cooking oil, 51,128 kg of clothes and toys and 423.5 kg of batteries.
This fact means that each Jumillano deposited in 2013 an average 28 kg in the different recycling containers, following still below the regional and national averages.
