The Department of Celebration, in partnership with the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Nazarene, will resume this year, the tradition of the Cruces de Mayo, with the already started last year.
Thus, as reported by Antonio Valero, Councilman Celebration, a large cross was installed in Plaza de Arriba, outside the headquarters of the Nazarene.
Also, new this year, and with the intention to enhance the presence of this party, a concert by Jumillano Association of Friends of Music, whose repertoire will focus on parts of zarzuela and pasodobles will be performed.
The concert will begin at 12.00 am on Thursday, May 1, and will be freely assistance.
This concert will also close the 25th anniversary of Our Lady of Sorrows, by the Brotherhood of the Nazarene.
Moreover, on this day, the Brotherhood released a new image of the Virgen Divina Pastora, the Sevillian sculptor Juan Manuel Montaño, image will be exposed along with the maypole all day.
Antonio Valero has encouraged residents and municipal associations to also install their May crosses in different streets and squares of the city, in order to rescue a tradition almost disappeared in Jumilla.
