The mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, attended yesterday's meeting as Vice President of the Board of the Spanish Association of Wine Cities, ACEVIN in Madrid, where amongst other things voted favorably incorporating the Wine Routes Txakoli 'and Rueda, as part of ACEVIN.
During the meeting also the recertification of various Wine Routes are adopted as the Utiel-Requera, Lleida, Bierzo or Penedes Tourism among others.
In addition, the Board elected to Jerez de la Frontera and Ronda, as the venue for the celebration of the twentieth ACEVIN General Assembly to be held in 2014, and coincides with the election of the Andalusian town of Jerez as European City of Wine 2014 .
In the morning, the Head of Culture, Tourism and the technician president Jumilla Wine Route, attending the Management Committee of the Wine Routes of Spain, as matters were discussed that evening the Board approved.
During the last meeting of the Committee held last November in the Ministry of Environment, Jumilla Wine Route renewed their certification with a mean score of 80% in the various aspects to be assessed.
The highest score with 90%, was then obtained in paragraph enology in which one looks at the training of personnel, quality system of the wineries, wine heritage enhancement or adequacy of the tourist activity.
Other issues highlighted in the audit were the tourist services offered by the municipality or the promotion and marketing is done the same, which also reached 80% of the score.
The Jumilla Wine Route obtained its first certification in 2005, date of entry in ACEVIN.
Since then, its development has been reaching record in the last year, according to the Tourism Observatory Turespaña, 19,000 visits, and positioning among the 10 most visited Spain routes.
