The Department of Culture and Tourism takes stock of the visits received by the municipality during 2013 (20/01/2014)

The Department of Culture and Tourism has taken stock of the visits Jumilla received during 2013, and the services provided by the Office of Tourism of the city, in addition to the information requested by visitors, and the number of people who passed by the municipality cultural venues such as museums or the Castle.

Thus, according to the Office of Tourism, in 2013, the number of services provided in the office was similar to last year, highlighting the 61% increase in the number of visitors compared to the 2012 group.

The origin of visitors who have gone through the tourist office was in a high percentage, regional, followed by tourists from other provinces and, finally, from other countries.

Thus, at national level, the most numerous are Alicante, followed by Valencia and Madrid.

Foreign tourists have come mostly from the UK, France and Germany.

Culture and historic buildings of the city, along with the wine and the holidays are the three most requested information for tourists visiting the town, followed by the food and dining, events and festivals, and active recreation and nature, with the Castle Wineries and Wine Route of the protagonists.

As for the cultural spaces of Jumilla, the Castle passed during 2013 more than 5,600 people, the Ethnographic Museum near 6,000 and 3,728 by the Archaeological tourists.
