On Saturday, November 16th, a group of about 30 people, including parents, children and members of the Ethnographic Museum of Natural Sciences "Jerónimo Molina" and SCL House Museum, learned a little more about the world of minerals, through the activity "Mineralízate II".
The workshop began at the quarry "Garcia Moya" located in the area known as "Cerro González", to see first hand the work done there yet collect mineral samples and learn more about the geology of the area .
Angel Francisco Cutillas, Paco Lenci, and James Smith were in charge of the tour guide who also participated in the technical director of the quarry, José Manuel Muńoz, who explained the whole process takes place in the same, guiding the visit , and explaining the operation of the quarry.
By the afternoon, and in the museum, all participants had the opportunity to examine, clean and classify the collected samples, which also could take home to inaugurate its newly started collection of minerals.
On August 3, took place the first part of the workshop, a visit to the old farm from the mines of La Celia, where children and adults had their first contact with the science of mineralogy.
