Prince Philip School celebrated the 29th anniversary of a forestry center at the Botanical Garden (19/11/2013)

The CEIP Prince Philip is celebrating the 29th anniversary of its foundation, and on this occasion, all year round has been conducting various activities that celebrate the nearly three decades of existence.

This morning in the Botanical Garden of Jumilla took place the last of the activities planned by the Centre, with the afforestation of over 250 specimens of various species.

All students in the school, from the smallest child to the ten primary courses, participated in planting, ie about 320 children, who have learned the meaning of friendship and respect for the environment through of this initiative.

Hackberry, ash trees, oleanders, carob, pine and holly eldarica are some of the units that has donated the Nursery of the Autonomous Community, through the Department of Agriculture of the City of Jumilla, free of charge for the activity.

The children were accompanied by municipal technicians in the area that have been commissioned to give a basic understanding of planting and processing plants.

In parallel, in the courtyard of the center itself, a copy will be planted pine, for schoolchildren to have a monitoring plant growth more directly and with which commemorates the activity.

Some of the activities that perform well on the occasion of its 29th anniversary will, among others, a chestnut, Fruit Day, various trips, the Tamborada, or living Nativity will take place on the last day of school before and Christmas holidays.
