According to the latest market data published by the Council of the Designation of Origin Jumilla, the campaign 2012/2013 closes with a very positive figure for the local wine, with 18.4 million liters sold, highlighting the increasing export 14% of bottles with DOP review Jumilla, for the sixth consecutive year.
With this increase, sales in foreign markets manage to be in amounts similar to those of national an "unprecedented" point from the Control Board.
Thus, the height of the market is shared by 51'5% for the domestic market and export the remaining 48'5.
For countries where greater volume of wine sold the 42 wineries registered in this DOP are the UK, USA, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, China, Canada and Denmark.
Moreover, the Council underlined the amount of grapes harvested in the season 2012/13 reaching the figure of 75 million kilos of grapes, mainly from the Monastrell variety, by the 2,000 growers enrolled in this DOP.
As the volume of wine approved by the wineries, it was 26 million liters.
