Throughout the week, the Department of Social Policy, is developing in the municipality, various activities within the Intercultural Week, under the Migrant Accommodation Program.
The activities began on Monday with an exhibition of works of children who have participated in various summer playgrounds.
After the opening of the exhibition, Paquita Ruiz, Equality Officer of the City of Jumilla, gave a talk on gender perspectives and gender and how they are perceived depending on the country or culture from the question.
Angel Francisco Cutillas, humanist and self took a walk through the history of Jumilla in a paper in which he also highlighted the wealth that reports the coexistence of cultures both past centuries and today.
Yesterday, Sociocultural Center hosted a screening of short films on different topics related to issues such as immigration, the woman or the coexistence of cultures, and throughout the weekend will continue to develop activities that will end on Sunday with an Intercultural Encounter.
The meeting will begin at 10:00 am on Paseo Poeta Lorenzo Guardiola, with a tasting of gachamigas by the Day Centre for the Elderly.
At 11.00 hours, is scheduled to take place the official opening of the meeting by the municipal authorities.
From 11.00 to 14.00 the various national and immigrant associations participating in the meeting held samples of dances, musical and theatrical performances.
Step noon, the typical products of each land focus the attention of visitors, which will conclude with a wine tasting gazpacho and Jumillano at 14.30.
As highlighted by the Councillor for Social Policy, "Intercultural Week is successfully developed, highlighting the involvement of local associations and immigrants who are working in the various events planned actively".
